Scholarships

Scholarships are a form of FREE MONEY to help pay for college, and I recommend that all students start applying as early as 9th grade! Please use the following websites to find scholarships that you are eligible for, and keep in mind that deadlines and requirements vary.

*The scholarship search tool is great for all grades, but especially useful for 9th-11th graders. (This is because most of the scholarships recommended by Ms. Verdin & JCYC are for current 12th graders).

Applying to scholarships takes a little bit of time and energy, but when it comes to paying for college, every penny counts! I recommend that all seniors apply to at least 3 scholarships or as many as they can.

Typically, applying for a scholarship will require some sort of essay and/or letter of recommendation.
