A-G Requirements:
In order to graduate from SFUSD and be eligible to attend a UC or CSU, students must complete a certain number of courses in each subject area per the chart below. While SFUSD requires students to obtain grades of D or higher in order to graduate, UC and CSU schools require that students obtain grades of C or higher in these courses to attend their schools. GPA Requirements:
UC and CSU schools calculate GPA based on the courses you took in 10th & 11th grade that fulfilled A-G requirements. The minimum GPA for UC is a 3.0, and the minimum GPA for CSU is 2.5 (although they may accept a GPA of 2.0 under certain circumstances).
If you are applying to private or out-of-state schools, they will most likely look at your grades from 9th, 10th and 11th grade when calculating your GPA.
It is also important to note that eligibility for Cal Grant is based on both income and GPA! Depending on your family's income and the number of people you live with, you will either need a 2.0 or 3.0 GPA to be eligible for Cal Grant. Maintaining a GPA of 3.0 or higher is the best way to ensure that you are eligible for Cal Grant!
