PICTURE DAY
FRIDAY, AUGUST 16th
Parents of 4th and 5th Graders:
If your student is interested in applying for our student leadership team, please make sure your forms are completed and turned in to Mrs. Clarke by next Friday, August 16th!
Beginning of the year Reminders
We love seeing your children at school and it is very important for them to be here all day every day. Our instructional day begins at 7:40 A.M. Any students who arrive after that time need to be accompanied to the office and signed in by a parent or guardian. School dismisses at 2:40 P.M. Thank you for your support with all that we have planned at school to help your child grow!
Summer Reading Challenge
Returning JCSS families, we hope your students have enjoyed participating in our district wide Summer Reading Challenge. Turn in your completed forms by August 9th to the media center or your teacher will deliver them for you. Students who participated in the summer reading challenge will have a fun prize very soon!

Birthdays
Parents can bring a purchased, sealed treat for your child's birthday. No balloons or flowers, as these are not allowed on the bus. You can drop the special treat off at the front office and the teacher will distribute it at a time that works in the class schedule.
Visit Linq Connect to add money to your child's meal accounts or to complete the online application for free or reduced-price meals.
At full price for the 2024-25 School Year:
Breakfast costs $1.50 in the elementary schools and $1.75 in the middle and high schools.
Lunch costs $2.25 in the elementary schools and $2.75 in the middle and high schools.
During the 2024-25 school year, households which have qualified for Free or Reduced Meals will not be required to pay the reduced price of $0.30 for breakfast, nor the $0.40 for lunch, due to the Georgia Department of Education funding being utilized to cover these costs.
Transportation Reminders
Questions about morning or afternoon transportation, visit our county transportation website HERE.
Car Rider Information
Infinite Campus and Parent Square
It is VERY IMPORTANT for all families to set up an Infinite Campus Parent Portal Account. Click HERE to set up your child's account. This account allows you to receive important school messages through the Parent Square app, see student grades, and attendance. If you have trouble with this process, email Mrs. Cliver (christa.cliver@jcss.us). After a parent portal account has been activated, please allow 24 hours for the information to sync with the Parent Square app to be able to message teachers. If you are unable to use Parent Square at any time, please send your child's teacher an email.
A contagious smile spreads kindness
We had a great first full week of school at HES!
