Teachers remarks: "This class is the foundation for all future art classes. It is a prerequisite that students pass this course before enrolling in all other art classes. The focus is on two-dimensional media: pen, pencil, chalk, oil pastel, colored pencil, and tera paint. Students learn to observe objects and see the details, contours, and proportions. The study of artists and art movements is included in sketchbook assignments. Projects in all art classes are based on teacher created rubrics which are shared with students prior to beginning their work."

(ARTH 110) Students must meet qualifying scores to receive college credit. Students are required to purchase a college textbook. No college tuition is charged for this course.
Teacher Remarks: As per the Ivy Tech syllabus, ARTH 110 focuses on reading about, look at, and writing about art and artists throughout history. Small art projects relating to the current subject as well as a museum field trip are included.

ADVANCED FINE ART: DRAWING
VA31 (State Course Number 4260)
This advanced course in fine arts drawing is offered for credit by an accredited postsecondary institution through an adjunct agreement with a secondary school or any other postsecondary fine arts courses offered for dual credit. .

Teacher remarks :This class is offered every other school year to students who enjoy drawing and would like to earn an elective fine arts credit for college. A textbook is required, however, students will need to purchase a sketchbook for their weekly drawing assignment. As per the Ball State University syllabus, a variety of drawing techniques and materials will be introduced to students. A field trip to the Ball State art department is included. Students will develop a body of work, which at the end of the class , is presented to Ball State as the students final portfolio. This class may be transferable to other colleges. Check with your chosen college to see if it transfers. .

COLOR AND DESIGN THEORY
