Due to the current stay-at-home order, we are not scheduling in-person events for the remainder of the spring semester. However, we would love to start planning for Fall 2020! To set up an in-person mock interview session, please fill out the Employer Sign up form or contact Jessica Jagger at jjagger@ivytech.edu.
1. Complete the Virtual Mock Interview form below.
2. An Ivy Tech career coach will each out to you within 2 business days via email to provide you with a toolkit, consisting of: a generic IT job description, a list of common behavioral questions, access to the digital feedback form, and Zoom instructions.
3. Provide your own job description and/or list of interview questions to the Ivy Tech career coach or approve the existing ones for use. We will also ask for a high rez logo + organization profile to help promote the event (if we don't already have it).
4. Students will be given information on your company and the position you are "hiring for" in preparation for the mock interview. We will work with students on their resume and interview skills as it pertains to the job description, and will provide you with a single .pdf file of all resumes prior to the event.
5. The day of the virtual mock interview event, we ask that you attend a pre-event Zoom meeting at the link provided to you in the confirmation email. This will help us iron out any issues, set you up as a co-host and provide you with a breakout room, and handle any last minute business. Students will congregate in the Zoom meeting's waiting room and we will allow them in promptly at start time. From there, the Ivy Tech Career Coach moderating the room will indicate the order of interviews. The Moderator will be keeping time and sending out global messages when time is almost up.
6. Each interview should last between 20-25 minutes, with a 5-minute buffer for you to give the student quick feedback and to write down any thoughts/notes/additional feedback on your form. You can then re-enter the main room and request another candidate.
7. Following the mock interviews, we will ask for a quick post-event meeting once all students are gone, just to get some initial feedback. We will then follow up to collect official feedback via email.
