This week, we have been busy finishing our incredible stories, ‘The Elephants in the Walls’, which we based on the mysterious and exciting book The Wolves in the Walls. The children have worked so hard on their drafts and are now in the process of ‘publishing’ their very best work into their special publishing books.
We are so proud of the care and attention they are taking with their presentation!
Talk Task:
* Can you tell your grown-up what happens when the elephants finally come out of the walls?
Which part of your story are you most proud of and why?
How did you make your story sound more exciting for the reader?
Easter Holidays
As we head into the break, we want to say a huge well done to all the children for their brilliant work this term. We hope you all have a wonderful, restful, and very happy Easter holiday!
OPAL
Moving forward with OPAL, we are looking to collect more crates, pallets, decking planks, guttering, large electrical reels and inner carpet tubes for our large loose parts area.
If you or anyone you know may be able to help us out in resourcing such items, please bring them to the school office for the attention of Mrs Griffiths.
A reminder that as a part of OPAL, the children will be out in all weather so please bring wellies to school!
Boom Reader
It's great to see so many children enjoying the home readers and making the most of Boom Reader. In between reading the home readers set from school, you can read books of your choosing. There are so many fantastic books available- have a look at the list below and see if any inspire you. Once you have finished reading a book, log on to Google Classroom and complete a Bookflix review!
Parents, don't forget to leave a comment on Boom Reader to let us know how your child found the book. Did they have a favourite character? Did they like the plot? Were there any/many words they didn't understand? Can they tell you interesting facts about the book?
In the first half of the summer term, our PE days are:
Monday - Athletics
Tuesday - Athletics
This week we are looking at homophones and similar sounding words, which children are still getting wrong.

This week in maths, we have continued to learn about fractions and how to represent things as part of a whole. Can you explain this problem.
Home Learning Project
This half term we will be celebrating British Science Week, in order to build the children’s excitement we would like the children to conduct their own science enquiry for their topic project. They have complete freedom to investigate whatever interests them and we look forward to seeing what they come up with! Please see below for inspiration.
