My main professional interest is working in an Outpatient Orthopedic PT clinic after graduating and honing my skills in patient care. I am drawn to this field because of the opportunity for me to practice working with a range of joints, patient ages, backgrounds, and exercise goals. I truly believe that working in this field will make me a better and more well-rounded clinician. I plan to work and track my hours until I can sit for the Orthopedic Clinical Specialist (OCS) exam to learn even more and apply that knowledge to my future patients.
Another professional interest I have is continuing research with instrument-assisted soft tissue mobilization (IASTM) or other opportunities that arise. I have progressed my knowledge of IASTM by becoming Graston certified in November of 2024. Lastly, I have a professional interest and goal to become a professor in the future, either while working in a clinic part-time or when I have retired from clinical practice. I have a strong desire to give back to the profession that has served me so well already by mentoring the next generation of PT and healthcare professionals.
Lastly, swimming and working with people that swim has always and will always be an interest to me.
After I graduation, I will stay in Indiana and give back to the community that helped get me where I am today
After I graduate, I will either do a residency or track my hours and sit for the OCS exam. This will help give me even more skills and expertise that I can use to benefit the outcomes of my future patients.
After I graduate, I will continue being active in research any way I can. Ultimately, once I am done working in a clinic I would love to get a PhD and become a professor in a PT program.
