Fall Reflection

I have learned so much from the work I have done at my site as well as how to conduct myself professionally by watching Dr. Shin. I started the semester off by doing some training because I would be working with confidential patient data. I then learned by way around REDCap, the database which my main study is organized under. I learned how to create a tool to input patient food diary data. After experimenting with a few different formats I found the one that best fit the type of data I needed to enter. I also learned how to embed data into tables on REDCap.

On my side project I learned how to cross check someone else's work. A resident had filtered through studies regarding the nutrition of a healthy person as opposed to the nutrition of someone with IBS. There was an excel sheet set up to keep track of all the different information in each study and Dr. Shin showed me how to navigate it as well as cross-check the information myself.
