Volunteer Work

Ronald McDonald House

I volunteer at the Ronald McDonald House of Central Indiana bi-weekly. The Ronald McDonald House is sort of like a hotel that provides free room and board to families of sick children being treated at Riley Children's Hospital. Medical expenses can put a huge strain on a family's finances, when all they should have to worry about is supporting their child. As a volunteer at the house, I assist the families currently living in the house and prepare rooms for families that may be visiting soon. This experience has been extremely rewarding as I see my small contributions bringing smiles to the faces of families that are struggling.

Indianapolis Zoo

As a volunteer with the Indianapolis Zoo I worked the Boo Zoo events. This role involved working with the children visiting the zoo and helping them have fun and learn about animals. This job is important so that the zoo workers can spend more time focusing on caring for the animals. I find this experience rewarding because I love working with children and teaching them new things.

School of Engineering and Technology

As a volunteer with the School of Engineering and Technology at IUPUI I primarily work with prospective students and introducing younger children to engineering. This involves working events like National Engineer's Day at the Indianapolis Children's Museum. This experience is really rewarding because I get to share what I am passionate about, and hopefully encourage others to pursue their passions.

Christ Church

As a children's ministry leader I teach a group of children ages K-5th grade once a month on Sunday morning. In this role I am responsible for keeping the children safe and planning fun age appropriate activities where they can learn about God.
