Management Experience

My first real job as a high schooler was working at Arby's. I maintained my position with the company for over 2 years because I enjoyed working with such a diverse group of people, and was on track to become a member of management. In this position, I provided friendly customer service, managed money and labor, trained new employees, and led a team of up to 7 employees through a workday. Additionally, I completed SERVsafe certification and was responsible for inventory and proper food safety. Although this job was not my goal career there were a lot of similarities. For example, following food safety protocol is similar to lab safety or following an SOP. Additionally, being able to work well with other people from different backgrounds is essential in any workplace. Climbing the ladder in this company from crew member, to team leader, to shift manager was a rewarding process and taught me lessons I will never forget
