We believe that the arts provide a powerful way to build community. This page highlights some of the larger scale arts projects (visual and performing) we have worked on.
Please watch the video to understand the process and learning behind this collaborative work.
This was a collaborative project at the end of a unit inspired by the artist Sonja Delaunay. She was a Ukranian / French artist and textile designer who was one of the pioneers of abstract art.

This project included Grade 9, 10 students, parents, teaching assistants and all Elementary students and teachers. We came together as a community to work on what community means to us. Words that are connected to 'community' are written on the canvases in 7 different languages most prevalent in our ISPP community. Everyone designed a small zentangle circle to contribute to the project.
Art Installation -October 2021: This project was an elementary collaboration. It was so exciting to have learners back on campus after covid restrictions that we wanted to capture the moment. During the first two weeks of school, EY-G5 students and our teachers and support staff created hand prints and recorded messages on them describing something they were grateful for. Prints were then overlapped and displayed in large wooden hoops down the entranceway to school. We were so grateful to be back!

April 2022: This project was an elementary collaboration to wish everyone a Happy Khmer New Year. The EY-G5 students learned the original Khmer lyrics and English lyrics by Ms. Olds. Then each class was recorded during their Performing Arts Time. Enjoy ISPP Elementary's Arabbeeya!
December 2021: This project was an elementary collaboration to wish everyone a happy winter break and holiday season. The EY-G5 students learned and choreographed the song to match the lyrics. Then each class was recorded during their Performing Arts Time. Enjoy ISPP Elementary's My Favorite Things!

Grade 4 and 5 students worked on a 'gratitude project' to recognise all the hard work and commitment that our teachers, teaching assistants and support staff do in our community. We collaborated with Grade 9 students on this project to write messages of thanks to our supportive staff.
National support staff saw the portraits for the first time at the Christmas Staff raffle. Everyone was so excited to take a selfie with their portraits. It was great for staff to be acknowledged and recognised for their hard work.
Along with the support staff's portraits...students also created images of the teachers which were well received!
While we were still working online...Elementary teachers worked together to create a video to share with our students and reinforce resilience!
