About the Adolescent Mental Health First Aid Course
The Adolescent Mental Health First Aid Course is a licensed, evidence-based programme designed to equip adults with the knowledge and skills to support young people who may be developing a mental health problem or experiencing a mental health crisis. The course provides a clear understanding of common conditions such as depression, anxiety, substance use problems, eating disorders, and suicidal thoughts or non-suicidal self-injury. Participants learn about adolescent development, how to recognise the signs and symptoms of emerging mental health difficulties, and how to respond appropriately and confidently. The programme also explores where and how to seek professional support, highlighting evidence-based treatments and effective pathways to care, so adults can provide informed, compassionate, and practical assistance to adolescents when it matters most.
