Past Initiative
Our Once Upon a Feeling Circle was a special bibliotherapy initiative carried out with Year 3 students during registration time. Using storybooks as a springboard, we explored everyday feelings and choices through relatable characters and themes.
Some of the themes included:
Being Lazy – understanding the difference between resting and making active choices to get things done.
Forgetful – learning about paying attention, staying organised, and discovering helpful strategies.
Honesty – why truth-telling is important in building trust with friends, teachers, and family.
Responsibility – how taking ownership of our actions helps us grow and support others.
These sessions encouraged students to reflect, share, and practice emotional awareness in a safe and engaging way, while linking stories to real-life skills.
As part of preparing our Year 6 students for the exciting move into secondary school, we ran an interactive workshop designed to support their transition.
During the session, students explored:
Changes ahead – what they anticipate and what might feel new or different.
Feelings & worries – recognising common anxieties and normalising them.
Strategies for success – who to reach out to, how to ask for help, and how to support one another as they begin this next chapter.
The workshop gave students the space to share openly, practise coping strategies, and build confidence in taking this important step forward.
