Children: Katya recently graduated and going to Erasmus in the Netherlands,  and Freya starting the IB in Year 12

Professional background: Alison has a Masters  in Education, specialising in International Education and Multilingualism. She worked for twenty years as a middle and high school teacher in International schools in Singapore, Turkey, San Francisco, Belgium, Switzerland, and Sweden.

Personal background: Alison was born in London, Ontario, Canada to British parents. After studies, the world beckoned and she left to travel and work. She met her Austrian husband in Belgium and they had two daughters in Switzerland and Sweden. Most recently, they lived in Italy for 9 years before moving to Lausanne and joining ISL two years ago. 

Language spoken: English, and with varying ability French, Italian and German.

Swiss Favourites: the beauty of the lakes and the mountains and the outdoor sports they offer! And of course cheese, wine, and chocolate.
