Children: Skye, Year 1
Professional background: Previously an award-winning stage illusionist and escape artist, Ning was also a TEDx speaker, a former committee member of the Singapore Council of Women’s Organisations (Women's Register), creative director of a kids edutainment company, and a Singapore Literature Prize-shortlisted author with seven bestsellers. She was appointed as an official ambassador for the 2018 Singapore Kindness Movement, something that still makes her mum smile. Ning holds a BA in Mass Communications from RMIT and an MSc in Creative Writing (Distinction) from the University of Edinburgh, thanks to a full scholarship from Singapore’s National Arts Council.
Personal background: Formally certified dyslexic and ADHD-fueled, Ning embraces her neurodivergence as a superpower. She brings that same creative energy to PTA and DEI activities. As ISL’s cultural ambassador for Singapore, Ning also moonlights as our friendly community “PTA Magician” (though she’s retired from the fire-eating act!). A born multitasker with the classic ENFJ personality type, Ning enjoys juggling different hats; keeping the PTA website, newsletter, social media, and ISL Parent Community WhatsApp group flowing in perfect harmony.
Language spoken: Armed with 1,000+ days of Duolingo proficiency in Française, and just okay-ish when it comes to English (she can't read Australian), Ning is multilingual with Singlish being her native language and Mandarin 中文 being her mother tongue. But if you ask her, Ning’s first language is Sarcasm.
Swiss Favourites: Ning’s favourite spot is the Olympic Museum… where history inspires and where her wife, Angelita, is writing the next chapter.
