I am Amy Simpson and this is my 5th year at ISKL and my 17th year overseas. I have been in education for over 20 years and been at 4 international schools. I have a bachelor degree is Physical education and K-6 elementary education from Gonzaga University. GO ZAGS I love being a PE teacher and passing on my love of fitness and health to my students. I teacher K-5th grade and my class include PS LM, PS KM, 1 JM, 1AA, 3rd, 4th and 5th grades. I am happy to answer any questions about PE program. asimpson@iskl.edu.my

Gail Smith
I was born in Melbourne, Australia. I have lived as an expat in Malaysia for the past 20+ years. I am married with two children, Stephanie, graduated from ISKL (2017) and Bryce in Grade 12. Both students are known as "ISKL Lifers" (meaning they have been here since PreK). I have taught in various parts of Australia including up to Grade 12 PE! I have over 20 years of teaching PE with the past 15 being in elementary PE. I attained a Bachelor of Education, (majoring in PE), a Bachelor of Arts, (majoring in Asian Studies and Languages) and a Bachelor of Business, (majoring in Human Resource Management). My passion is teaching physical education and I feel very lucky to be part of such a great school community as ISKL. My personal goal is for children to understand the importance of making healthy choices, develop a love for movement and pursue an active daily lifestyle. I look forward to welcoming back our returning students to our fabulous new campus and eager to meet our new ISKL community members.
This year I am teaching Grades 5 (odd and even days), Grade 4 (even days) and 2BM. I am also the Athletics and Activities Director for our 700+ Elementary students

Tim Pettus
Hi, my name is Tim Pettus. Some students call me Mr. P or Pe. I have been asked if I chose my profession because my last name starts with the letters Pe. No, just a coincidence, but I do love teaching PE and seeing the joy it brings to my students.
I have taught elementary PE for the last 16 years. The last 12 years I taught at The Waterford School in Salt Lake City, UT. I earned a Master of Arts in Teaching Physical Education from Winthrop University in Rock Hill, South Carolina in 2002. I completed my undergraduate work at Springfield College (Springfield, MA), earning a Bachelors degree in Recreation Management in 1995. While at Springfield College, I played on the men’s tennis team for four years. Before becoming a PE teacher, I worked full time as a tennis instructor at Kiawah Island golf and tennis resort in Charleston, South Carolina, USA.
This is my fifth year teaching at ISKL. My wife is a 9th grade teacher in the high school at ISKL. My son Jaden is in 11th grade and my daughter Yori is in 7th grade.
This year I will teach: grade 5 (odd and even), grade 4 (odd and even), grade 3 (odd and even), 2AL, 1AA, PSSA, and PSKH

MAX Mangelsdorf
Hi, my name is Max Mangelsdorf. This is my 11th year at ISKL, but my first in the PE department. I have coached every level here at ISKL...including U11 basketball, baseball, MS basketball and Varsity baseball. I love all sports and am excited to instil that love in the elementary students this year. We have a wonderful team of PE teachers and we are looking forward to playing every day!
I am originally from the United States...but I have been overseas for the past 21 years. My wife is one of the librarians here and I have three children who have loved their ISKL experience.

Hi, my name is Zulkifli Mohamed Darus. You can call me Zul if you see me around. I've been working as P.E. Assistant in ISKL since 2016. I’m 46 years old, I have 3 kids. A girl 16 years old and two boys 14yrs and 12yrs. My wife Azlina works at a government school. Before I join ISKL, I worked at MKIS for 19 years. I enjoy working with the kids in water, field, gym, climbing wall and creating games. I do a lot outdoor sport and like all sports.
I wish I can share all my experience and make ISKL the best place to learn.

Hello, my name is Sivashangkari and I am the PE Team Assistant at ISKL. I was born and raised in a small town in Negeri Sembilan. After I graduated, I moved to Kuala Lumpur to pursue a career. I have a Degree in Educational Psychology and Masters In Educational Psychology. I started at a very young age working with kids and grew to love watching their different behaviours. In 2013, I began my career as an assistant teacher for Grade 1 and 2. I believe that some of the most important skills to have when working with little children is patience, flexibility an love. I am very happy to be part of ISKL.
