Primary Years (PYP 1-5) Welcome Information
Dear PYP parents of ISH,
We are looking forward to an inspirational and educational time with you and your child(ren) at the school. In the Primary Years Programme (PYP) we focus on the development of the whole child as an inquirer, both at school and beyond with an emphasis on ongoing reflection.
Below you can find information on the first days/weeks of school and the Welcome Letters from the grade levels.

First Day/Week of School Information for August 2023
First Day of School Timings: Tuesday August 15th, 2023
Drop-off and pick-up time:
PYP 1-2 - 8:20 - 11:30 Drop off and pick-up at meeting spot in playground
PYP 3-5 - 9:00 - 12:00 Drop off and pick-up at meeting spot in playground
*please keep the play areas in the playground free in the morning as students will have recesses between 10:00-11:30.
First Day of School Practical Information:
PYP 1-5 classes meet outside in the playground.
The Morning Club and ASCP are not provided on first day of school. The programmes will resume from Tuesday, August 16th at their usual times (Morning club: 7:00-8:15; ASCP until 17:00). We ask families to leave as soon as possible so as to reduce the number of people on the playground, and not remain in the school premises between drop-off and pick-up.
Children should bring a water bottle and a healthy snack-box on the first day (school lunch is not served).
Online Parent Information Sessions (per class):
These are required sessions. Save these dates in your calendar. The sessions will be online (invites will be sent at a later time):

Class Lists:
You will receive this information a few days prior to the first day of school, via Toddle ( the communications platform that we use in the primary school - read more here!).
Nut-free policy at school:
The Hellerup Campus is nut-free (details on the Wellbeing page).
Lunch:
The school lunch service begins on Wednesday August 16th.
Bring Your Own Laptop (PYP4-5):
PYP4-5 students are required to bring their own laptop from the first week of school (details on the Technology page).
Morning Club and After School Care Program (ASCP) Information:
For safety reasons, it is necessary to enroll to morning club (from 7am to 8.15am) and to ASCP (from school´s dismissal until 5 pm) if students needs to stay on school campus outside of school hours.
PYP 4-5 students can enroll to RYAC ( local youth club, from Copenhagen´s Kommune).
For PYP1-PYP4, the first day for Morning Club and ASCP is Wednesday, August 16th for the students who are currently already enrolled. The opening hours for Morning Club are from 7:00- 8.15 and ASCP is operative from 2:20 (13:30 on Fridays) until 17:00.
New ISH families: it is possible to sign up for ASCP throughout the month of August, and start immediately. ONLINE FORM
If your child was enrolled for last school year, the enrollment will be automatically renewed. Please inform us about any changes.
School closes at 17:00 sharp. Please remember to pick up your child on time (not after 16.55). In case of repeated lateness, a late fee of 200 DKK will be charged on the following month's invoice.
