By Bike

Denmark is very bike-friendly and there are several bike paths near the school. We have a designated bike parking area inside the school grounds that your child is welcome to use. Biking is not allowed on the school grounds.

By Car

To ensure a free flow of traffic and easy access to the school in case of any emergencies, we would like to appeal to all parents to use the school’s recommended parking areas on Rymarksvej or Bomhusvej as indicated on the map below.

Campus Access - Gate Code

The school gates are open during the morning drop-off time. At other times during the day, parents need to enter a gate code in order to access the school grounds. The gate code is changed after each school holiday (Summer break, October Break, Winter Break, February Break, Spring Break). The active gate code can be found in the weekly parent newsletter.

School Grounds Pet Policy

Please be aware that pets are not allowed on the Hellerup Campus school grounds, especially during drop-off and pick-up times. Exceptions will be considered only for certified service dogs or educational purposes with prior approval from the School Leadership Team. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

Details about the Apartments at Hellerup Campus

Our school campuses, both in Hellerup and Østerbro, are leased until the end of 2031. In 2015, when we secured the lease for the Hellerup campus building, it included two apartments. One of these apartments was unoccupied and is now used by the school. Typically, this apartment is offered to foreign teaching hires (ISH teachers) on a short-term basis while they search for more permanent housing in Copenhagen.

The second apartment had an existing tenant, Hans, who continues to reside there. Hans, a retired pilot, has made the apartment his home for over four decades. He now shares the space with his partner, Praewpan. Our school's leadership and administrative team maintain regular, positive communication with them. Due to zoning regulations, the school is obligated to lease these apartments to private individuals and cannot use them for school activities.

Looking ahead, we envision using the second apartment as an additional option for short-term lease to teachers needing temporary lodging.

For inquiries about the apartments, feel free to contact the Head of School, Elmiye Kolukisa, at ekolukisa@ish.dk. Your understanding is appreciated.
