An apprenticeship is a program that trains you to become skilled in one particular trade or profession. It typically combines classroom learning with hands-on work. Apprenticeships are learn to earn option. Meaning, you will earn money while learning the trade. Your wages will increase as you master the required skills of the trade throughout the apprenticeship. This is an excellent option for students who want to begin earning money right after high school. Apprenticeships allow students to have a great paying job after they complete an apprenticeship.
You will at minimum a high school diploma or GED to meet the initial apprenticeship requirements.
Find a trade that you are interested in and suits you. Assessing your interests and skills will help you discover what trade is best for you. Talk to SAVHS counselors and College & Career Coordinator to explore apprenticeship opportunities.
