Take the PSAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test in October. This is highly recommended for all college bound juniors and is necessary for anyone who would like National Merit recognition.
College representatives come to SAVHS to meet with students. During these meetings, these representatives will share information about their college and answer questions you may have!

Prepare a list of colleges or programs of interest. The list should include the programs of interest and important application deadlines for the college or program. Make note of the admission requirements for the college and/or program.
Discuss college costs with your family and begin to research financial aid and scholarship opportunities.

Prepare for the ACT and take it several times. Currently, most schools do not require an ACT/SAT score on file for admissions purposes. It is recommended students still take the ACT/SAT exam, because it could help with the following:
Scholarships- some scholarships require an ACT/SAT score to be considered for the scholarship.
Preparing for college placement tests.
Measuring college and career readiness.
