Attend your senior meeting with your school counselor. Review your credits, college entrance requirements, and college choices. Talk about the application process and counselor recommendations, if needed.
Remember, students are assigned to a counselor by your last name.

Request letters of recommendation from teachers or others that can speak on your character or college potential. Be sure to complete the Letter of Recommendation form to help your recommender write a great letter for you.
BE SURE TO GIVE THE RECOMMENDER A MINUMUM OF TWO WEEKS TO WRITE YOUR LETTER OF RECOMMENDATION

Most applications are submitted prior to winter break, be aware of the college application deadlines. Most colleges have priority deadlines.
Please request transcripts to be sent from the high school counseling office. Please give at minimum 1 week for your transcript request to be processed.
Seniors are able to visit colleges during their final HS year, if necessary.
Submit any additional applications.
Focus on your school work while waiting for an admissions decision.
Request any mid-year reports from your counselor, if the school requires them.
Make final college visits, if needed.
Notify any colleges you do not plan to attend, but previously applied.
Officially accept your offer to the school you plan on attending.
Complete the housing application, if you plan on living on-campus.
Attend summer orientation for your college. Every college handles orientation differently, be sure to be in the know about how your college handles this.
Continue applying for scholarship opportunities.
Review and accept financial aid offers. You should receive your financial aid letter or package from the college you are planning to attend, if previously filed. If you have questions, be sure to reach out to the Office of Financial Aid at your college with questions.
Request final transcripts to be sent from your high school. Remember, this request can take 1-2 weeks to process.
