AFSTRI at a Glance

AFSTRI’s Objectives

• To promote understanding and communication among fellows, scholars, trainees and residents of IRRI.

• To maintain peace and harmony among different international communities living in IRRI.

• To strive for unity in diversity. 

• To provide a social atmosphere for wholesome recreation and entertainment. 

• To help and cooperate with the administration of IRRI in the various matters concerning AFSTRI welfare. 

• To work for the overall well being and interest of its members.

AFSTRI's Members

• • Any scholar, fellow or trainee who is in IRRI to conduct research or training shall automatically be a member by paying a membership fee (146 members).

AFSTRI SPOUSE CLUB

• 1. To assist AFSTRI Executive Committee in conducing social and cultural activities, the spouses/partners of IRRI will form a club

  2. The members of which will consist of:

     1. Member: Spouses/partners of IRRI AFSTRI members.

     2. Associate members; Spouses/partners of international students at UPLB.

1. This is primarily intended to evoke participation of spouses/partners, particularly, in the social and cultural activities of AFSTRI. 

2. The membership would be given to those spouses/partners who pay their monthly nominal fee as decided by the Spouses Club. 

3. The spouse/partner of the officiating Director General of IRRI will be the Chief Patron of the Spouses Club. 

4. Honorary membership may be given to distinguished persons interested in Club’s activities.
