đź’¸ SEP Grant
The Student Exchange Programme (SEP) Grant is a financial support initiative created to ensure that all pharmacy students, regardless of their financial situation, can benefit from the opportunities offered by IPSF’s Student Exchange Programme. Recognising that travel expenses can sometimes be a barrier to participation, the SEP Grant provides partial reimbursement to students, easing their financial burden and making global exchange more accessible.
🎯 Purpose
To support pharmacy students with limited financial resources, allowing them to participate in SEP placements abroad.
To reduce financial barriers by covering part of travel expenses, making SEP a more inclusive and equitable programme.
To encourage international exchange in pharmacy education and practice, fostering diversity and broader participation in SEP.
To strengthen SEP’s mission of building global connections by ensuring students from all regions have equal opportunities to travel.
đź’ˇ What the Grant Covers
Partial reimbursement of travel costs, including bus, train, or flight tickets.
Coverage applies to transportation from the student’s home country to the SEP destination and back.
A fixed grant amount per student, designed to contribute significantly to travel costs while ensuring fairness and transparency across all regions.
đź“… Structure of the Grant
Since this mandate, the SEP Grant has been divided into two separate editions:
Winter SEP Grant: Supporting students participating in exchanges outside the summer period.
Summer SEP Grant: Supporting students during the peak exchange period (May–September).
Each edition guarantees five winners, one from each IPSF Regional Office (AfRO, APRO, EMRO, EURO, PARO), ensuring balanced global representation
Each selected student receives 200 EUR as financial support.
âś… Eligibility
Applicants must be pharmacy students participating in an official SEP exchange during the eligible period.
Students must demonstrate financial need and submit required supporting documents.
The grant is open to all SEP participants, but priority is given to those with limited resources and clear motivation for their exchange.
🔎 Selection Process
Applications are reviewed by the Student Exchange Committee (SEC), following transparent criteria.
Selection considers financial need, motivation, and confirmation of exchange placement
Winners are announced publicly and celebrated through IPSF channels to showcase their success.
🌍 Impact of the SEP Grant
The SEP Grant has become a staple of the Student Exchange Programme, directly supporting students who might otherwise be unable to afford an exchange. By ensuring equitable participation, the Grant enhances diversity within SEP, empowers students to gain international exposure, and strengthens IPSF’s vision of accessible pharmacy education worldwide.
