Studying history is important because it allows us to understand our past, which in turn allows us to understand our present. Studying history can provide us with insight into our cultures of origin as well as how these cultures have changed over time. In US History the curriculum covers traditional history topics, from the founding of the country to the present, with connections to today. Group activities like trials, debates, games, and movies are incorporated into the curriculum for student engagement.
