While historians use TIME as their foundation, and primary sources and timelines to tell their stories, human geographers use SPACE as their foundation, and use maps, charts, diagrams, and photos as a means to explain where and why events occur throughout the world.

A human geographer focuses on how peoples of the world structure their populations, their cultures, and other activities.
In other words, the human geographer studies human systems and their imprints on the Earth.

Unlike a physical geographer, we don’t study “what makes it rain.” Instead, we study how PEOPLE deal with too much or too little rainfall, from their economic activities to their religious customs.
