Mechanical Design
Intake
2 x 775 Pro
25:1 Gear Ratio
Polyurethane Belting with crown pulleys
2" Vectored Intake wheels
Possible Improvements:
Iterate Tube hubs
Add pneumatic actuator
Update the CAD model to reflect current/improved design
Pneumatic System
4 x Solenoid slots on the solenoid bank
2 x Double acting solenoids
1 x PCM (Pneumatics Control Module)
Add double acting solenoid, 1 for each actuator
Update coding for the PCM to be able to control the arms
Pneumatic Cylinders
In this slideshow, we go through the math equations that helped us to determine the correct cylinder bore size so that the cylinders can handle the load.
Arm Rigidity Bracket
This was added to strengthen the arm brace and make it more rigid. Although it did not work as intended, we did learn that there was a different problem causing it to be flexible.
Refined Arm Configuration
This revised arm plate is now able to hold the arm rigidity bracket. The new holes allow for screws.
Intake Assembly
This is the entire intake assembly from a side view. This allows us to see the configuration of all of the components. The points that the pneumatic cylinders come in contact with the arm and side plate.
Temporary Arm Support
We used this wedge of wood to temporarily prop up the intake arm to determine the optimal position for ball intake.
