Samatha is an engaging speaker and a gifted writer. She has consistently participated in every school or college visit that IGIB has hosted from 2016-2020. She has also donned many hats, sometimes taking veterans from different walks of life on a tour of the Institute, given popular science lectures to 100s of students on genomics and talked to middle school children about the virtues of zebrafish as a model system.

Azhar loved to address school students' deepest concerns, answering questions like “How can I become a scientist?” or “ I am depressed about not clearing the medical entrance, what can I do”. Science communication can be taught, but the innate qualities of sensitivity and compassion he had for students from over-crowded and under-funded government schools was an eye opener for others in the Science Ambassador Program.
Monika Verma
Sharing her thrill of peering into the microscope, Monika would set up the microscope station, with a wide array of slides and a computer where more images could be shown. More than a hundred students have discovered the beauty of plant cells and the intricacies of tissues under her gentle guidance.
