December 7th - MS
Agenda
Pre-Work
For your prework, we'd like to ask you to do two things:
Please complete a personal reflection using the following questions:
Describe a time when you felt Amplify planning was at its best. What made that planning successful? What did your team produce?
Describe a time when you thought planning did not go well. Where did your team struggle?
Please post the protocol that you use to help your teachers plan for teaching with Amplify to the linked Google Slides. If you don't have a formal protocol, write out the steps that you guide teachers through as you co-plan.
We'll discuss your pre-work during our online meeting. See you all soon!
Materials for our Work Together from 6:00 to 8:00
Empathy Interview: Teacher
You'll use this protocol to conduct empathy interviews with teachers at your school.
Empathy Interview: Student
You'll use this protocol to conduct empathy interviews with students at your school.
Bridge to Practice
The purpose of this bridge to practice is for you to deepen your understanding of the experiences that teachers and students are having with the ELAR curriculum. You'll share this information during our next meeting and then we'll work to use what we've learned to inform planning.
To be successful with this bridge to practice, please do the following:
Please use the Empathy Interview protocols linked above to conduct interviews with 1 or 2 students and 1 or 2 teachers. Please take notes on the conversations that you have. Here are a few tips for collecting your interviews:
If possible, record the interview. This will help to fill in information you may have missed.
Take notes to supplement the recorded interview. You may want to mark specific times you want to listen to on the recording or big ideas that you don’t want to forget.
Summarize the interview in your own words as soon as possible after the interview. This will help document your thinking about what was said and what you observed during the interview.
Please let us know if you have any questions. Have a great holiday season and we will see you on January 18th!
