Mobility 02

Hobro. Denmark. Affordable and clean energy

This mobility took place from the 13th to the 18th of January 2020.

16 students, from Portugal, Finland, Czech Republic and Spain, plus two teachers from each country, travelled to Hobro, Denmark, to attend this project on Affordable and Clean Energy, one of the 17 topics of Agenda 2030.

The 16 international students, stayed with host families, so they made together a group of more than 32 students counting the local ones, some of which will travel later to next mobilities.

The first school day every group of students from each country made a presentation of their places, where they life and their schools. Them we made a tour to visit the school, and later the project was introduced. International groups where made, and them every group choose what was going to be their target on the subject. The targets were wind generators, hydropower plants, hydrogen fuel cells and solar power.

Next day we visited a hydrogen fuel cells factory, Ballard, and an energy museum, where the students had the opportunity to get closer to the subject by having a real experience on clean energies.

The days after we worked on the school to develop the projects, that on Saturday morning, the last day of the mobility, were presented to the school board and families. And the projects came out really well.

Also one day between the week we visited Aarhus and two sites there, a Contemporary Art museum, ARoS, and a Denmark History thematic park, Dem Gamle By. This was a great day out, so much fun, and so much learning in the mark of cultural heritage exchange.

Also many other social activities took place during the week; we had dinner all together a few evenings, one of them we even cooked ourselves, we sang all together, we played sports, etc.

The last day tears showed up in between goodbye hugs. The main purpose was completed by far. Now the students were friends to each other, and suddenly the world, and Europe, was a smaller place, and closer to them.

We have not enough words to express how thankful we are to our host school, Rosendal Skole, for being so warn, friendly, easy going and professional. We all came back with an unforgettable experience on our life backpacks.
