The fourth and last meeting of the project took place in Puerto Real, Spain, between the 8th and the 10th of April, 2025 at IES Manuel de Falla. The aim of the meeting was put togheter all the elements that each team had previously designed and 3D printed in their schools in order to assamble our sustainable and inclusive classroom prototype, and set the final remarks of this amazing project of two years lenght.
We started the meeting at 9am in the Library of IES Manuel de Falla, where Mr. Pedro Gallardo, headmaster of the school, greeted the visiting teachers and students. Mrs. Aurora Salvador, the mayor of Puerto Real, gave a speech to welcome them as well. After opening speeches from teachers, videos with final remarks and learnings from the students were watched.
Then, at 11am, students met in the Laboratory of Physics, where they finished the 3D model of the sustainable and inclusive classroom that they envisioned, by assembling the elements from each team and adding the QR codes. At the same time, teachers carried out the project assessment and made agreements to write the final report and close it.
At midday, journalist and camera from Tele Puerto Real joined the participants to show the people the 3D model and explain how each element makes the classroom more sustainable and inclusive. They made a TV report for the news that you can see here. Finally, we left the school and went to have lunch and enjoy cultural exchanges.
This day we visited the city of Cádiz. In the morning, we enjoyed an awsome tour guided by the historical city center. At midday, students and teachers enjoyed some free time and had lunch nearby.
In the afternoon, all participants met in Edificio Constitución 1812, a building belongig to the Univesrity of Cádiz, to attend a very interesting and interactive workshop called Sustainability Poly-ce: Investigating the Secret Life of Eco-Friendly Plastics, delivered by Petra Bacova, researcher in the School of Sciencies.
It was a really nice day, with a sunny but windy weather, that all of us could enjoy.
We thank the institutional collaboration of the University of Cádiz.
In the morning, we had a trip to Bolonia, a small village near Tarifa. There, we could visit the ruins of Baelo Claudia, an ancient roman city. After that, the participants enjoyed some free time on the beach of Bolonia.
In the afternoon, the participants went to Vejer de la Frontera, where they had a walk through the old town and had lunch nearby.
Thursday night we held the closing ceremony for our Erasmus+ Classrooms for Future project. After farewell speeches by a representative from each team, the students offered beautiful words highlighting their learnings and showing their gratitude. The project coordinator gave a presentation on the main results, and diplomas were awarded to each participant. Finally, the headmaster of IES Manuel de Falla closed the ceremony with a farewell speech. It was a beautiful and emotional event that brings this project to a close, but one that opens the door to new adventures, collaborating more than just as friends, but as a big family.
