IIS Newton-Pertini is a large public secondary high school with 2,044 students aged 13-19 in a traditionally rural area evolving towards small/medium industries and services. There are 255 teachers and 55 non-teaching staff. Situated in an area that is well served in terms of public transport, it is attended by students living in towns within the provinces of Padua, Treviso and Venice.

The school offers a wide range of secondary courses - the 12 courses are at 3 different academic levels: lyceum, technical (both technological and economic) and vocational.

There are common subjects in each course, as well as subjects and laboratories/workshops specific to each course. The school has many specialised laboratories. The E.U. key competences are at the basis of all teaching activity. All students study English for their whole course of studies, while 34/95 classes study at least two curricular European languages and 12 classes study three. The languages taught are French, German (with Deutsches SprachDiplom DSD), English and Spanish. The school has a long tradition of projects of internationalisation, including Comenius, Erasmus+, U.N. simulations, cultural exchanges, long-term mobility. The 'Eduscopio' results published each year by the Fondazione Agnelli are excellent.
