IEEE Collabratec (CT) is an integrated online community platform where technology professionals, especially engineers, can discover, connect and collaborate  ---  all in one central hub.

The IEEE Collabratec platform is available to all technology-minded professionals. IEEE Members receive added benefits and expanded functionality (more below). IEEE Collabratec is Mobile Responsive!

Visit the IEEE Collabratec Users Forum* to ask questions and engage with others including staff to learn more about the platform features.

*** Profile Bidirectional settings was fully implemented in 2025 (Release 12.3). This means that IEEE Members can edit their Address, Biography, Education, and Employment information from within Collabratec and the information will be updated in the master database. Access to IEEE Account is still available (required when editing photo or name)without having to navigate out to their separate IEEE Account. Information will be stored in the master database. ***

Collabratec offers full profile view mode in one scroll without the need to navigate to separate sections!

IEEE Collabratec provides the ability to:

• View your profile, your professional identity!

• Find all of your customized IEEE Section information at the touch of a button.

• Showcase key accomplishments, strengths and expertise

• Highlight past and present volunteer positions (Certificates now available for viewing, downloading and printing!)

• Connect with global technology professionals by technical interests, IEEE-affiliations, authorship, region and more!

• Engage in conversation in Community forums* focused on technical and other important subject matter, such as:  IEEE WIE Global Network (Women In Engineering), Artificial Intelligence, Membership, Entrepreneurship,  plus many more!

• Brainstorm, plan and collaborate in user-created shared workspaces (formerly groups).

• Workspaces provide file storage and archiving capability, shared-editing as well as a project management tool.

• Post technical articles and event-related multimedia to spark discussion.

• Access robust networking, collaboration, and authoring tools specifically suited for technology-minded professionals.

• Upload your CV/resume to help find your next career opportunity. (See Opportunities section of this User Guide for more information).

• Search for and stream relevant events using the many available event filters.

For IEEE Members:  

• Download and print your Member and Society Certificates right from your profile!

• Find other IEEE Members using the exclusive IEEE Member Directory under the People tab.

• Find or become a mentor** to accelerate your career development or guide others from your experience.

• Find all of your customized IEEE Section information at the touch of a button.

• Highlight past and present volunteer positions

• Join exclusive communities based on IEEE or technical society membership.

• View your IEEE member grade badge and Membership Milestone.

• Take advantage of expanded workspaces where you can develop your research and projects.

• Join the IEEE Membership forum to ask questions and learn about exclusive offers.

Requirements:  

IEEE Collabratec can be accessed from a compatible browser and is mobile-responsive (see 'Mobile' tab on the menu). Supported browsers:

• Internet Explorer 10

• Mozilla Firefox 27

• Safari 7

• Chrome (update enabled)

The following options must also be activated within the browser:

• Cookies

• JavaScript

• CSS styles

Top Navigation + My CT Bar (see Image 1 ):  

 Ever-present access to the functions as follows:

• Discover: Communities, Events, Literature, Wildcard

• Connect: Access to the IEEE Member DIrectory with pre-filtered headings for ALL, Members, Mentors, My Network, Volunteers, Authors

• Collaborate: Workspaces, Mentoring (Career Services), Opportunities

• Profile/Settings: Your Profile view, editing and associated settings

• Info: Access to CT Info Pages which is info on the platform; via a google site.

• My CT Bar (just under the Top navigation bar):

Provides quick access to Favorites, Notifications, Messages, Network (Membership Directory), Communities, Workspaces and Library.

Note: My CT bar in Mobile has been Enhanced with other key functions such as: My Profile, My Badges, and coming soon: My Mentoring, My Pending Actions and My IEEE Section Hub. 

This is due to the Mobile version being a one-column design versus the desktop version which is a 3 column design so some funtions had to be moved to My CT bar.  See Mobile tab for that rendering.

Home Page (see Image 2 ):  

Desktop rendering will be a 3-column design featuring the Member Console and Premium Services on the left rail, Home Activity Feed in the middle and Pending Actions, Custom Networks, Opportunities, My Badges, Trending Posts and Recommendations on the right rail.

• Home Activity Feed: Consolidates all of your activity in one feed including activity from:  Communities you have joined; Workspaces you own and have joined; your Network; select IEEE-TV videos and IEEE Spectrum articles; Featured pinned posts like announcements or polls

• Member Console displayed on left rail including Profile crest and access, Membership Milestone and one-click direct access to important functions

• Pending Actions are now at the top of the Right Rail for easy access

• Trending posts in communities on right rail

Favorites Page (formerly Dashboard) (see Image 3 & 4 ) -

Note: Dashboard was renamed 'Favorites' with Pending Actions, Custom Networks and Most Recent badges moved to Home Page Right Rail for immediate access :  

• Favorites - Workspaces you have own/joined and Communities which you have Favorited appear as icons on top for quick access  

• Favorites - others will provide direct links to Workspaces you have own/joined and Communities you own appear on middle lower section

• Workspaces/Communities- you have own/joined and Communities you own appear on middle lower section

•  Pending Actions -  notifications for which an action is required is displayed

• Custom Networks -  Create/Edit/View custom networks of selected users to allow sharing content and sending group messages

• Member Console - is shown as with the Home Activity Page

• My Badges - A list of the badges you have earned is shown.
