Docent Program Information

• Field lessons are 1.5 hours, once a month, with 3 lessons in the Fall (September, October, and November-December) and 5 lessons in the spring (January through May).

• Docent instructors sign up to work with one class for the school year. There are two docents per class, who work together (except for very small classes).

• Your schedule is flexible because you will work with your co-instructor and classroom teacher to schedule a date/time that works for everyone each month.

• Stipends are $50/lesson taught (per docent). In addition to the 1.5-hour lesson that you will co-teach, included in this stipend is the assumption that you will attend training (3 per year - September, December, and March) and do your own lesson coordination and scheduling with your co-instructor and classroom teacher.

• You will be provided in-person field training, all lesson plans, materials, student journals, and instructor reflective teaching journals to make this a successful field teaching experience.
