Docents
Docent Program Information
Field lessons are 1.5 hours, once a month, with 3 lessons in the Fall (September, October, and November-December) and 5 lessons in the spring (January through May).
Docent instructors sign up to work with one class for the school year. There are two docents per class, who work together (except for very small classes).
Your schedule is flexible because you will work with your co-instructor and classroom teacher to schedule a date/time that works for everyone each month.
Stipends are $50/lesson taught (per docent). In addition to the 1.5-hour lesson that you will co-teach, included in this stipend is the assumption that you will attend training (3 per year - September, December, and March) and do your own lesson coordination and scheduling with your co-instructor and classroom teacher.
You will be provided in-person field training, all lesson plans, materials, student journals, and instructor reflective teaching journals to make this a successful field teaching experience.
