We are the Heddlu Bach team otherwise known as 'The SAPS mini police team'
Our job is to serve and protect our school community.
Our team consists of one pupil from each class in KS2
Autumn 2024 Action Plan
At the beginning of term our representatives had to read the Heddlu Bach Oath.
At the beginning and end of the school day can be extremely busy. So please drive carefully when travelling down Jenkins Street and Mendalgief Road as there are lots of pedestrians entering and exiting this street.
When parking please remember to park in the safe zone areas.
We have placed road safety signs at the entrance of both sites to remind you not to park on the double yellow and zig zag lines.
This term our Heddlu Bach team have decided to continue to police the buses by collecting any items left on the buses by our learners. This has been a real success so far.
You will notice out team as we will be wearing our Heddlu Bach fluorescent jackets.
We have created our own Heddlu Bach certificates whilst developing their digital skills.
These certificates are awarded at the end of the week to one pupil from each of the KS2 classes. The learner is chosen for being an excellent role model or citizen in St Andrew's.
Heddlu Bach award class dojo's for helping others in their class and for being good role models.
This term we have been very fortunate to have met with Alex Donne our Nxt Gen Community Police Officer.
We have been working on
Anti-Social behaviour and looking at Dog safety.
Two representatives from our Heddlu Bach team took part in our Remembrance Service at the Connect. They both showed considerable respect and empathy to those who had died in the war.
Spring 2025 Action Plan
Our Heddlu Bach met with Alex Donne, our NXTGEN Officer to discuss the importance of Internet safety. They were looking at ways in which we can keep safe when using the internet.
He has set our team a challenge.
Can they go without using the internet for one evening after school a week.
I wonder if we can do it :) Pob lwc!
The Heddlu Bach team visited Newport Central Police Station as part of developing links with our local PCSO's.
During the visit the team had a tour of the station, looked at the different vehicles, tried on uniform and even looked at the custody suite.
