May update...

Have you spotted the new bins? New rules in Wales mean that we now have to make sure we separate more of our waste and recycle even more, this is an important step towards reaching zero waste, reducing our carbon emissions and tackling the climate emergency by keeping materials in use for as long as possible. The eco-council have been monitoring them and want to make sure everyone knows what goes where!

The bins are:

Plastics, Tins & Cans (but not soft plastics e.g. carrier bags, crisp packets, sweet & chocolate wrappers)

Paper & Cardboard (but not tissue or paper towels)

Mixed Glass, Bottles & Jars

Food Waste

General Waste (hopefully with the least in!)

Cartons and Tetrapaks now go into the plastics bin (not in the cardboard bin).

The colours are a bit different inside the buildings and outside so please make sure you read the labels! Check out the Eco-Council page on the Together Learning website to see more about  recycling at St. Andrew's.

Wales is already the best in the UK for domestic recycling and third best in the world. Let's make it even better!

We also recycle...

Crisp packets - we've recycled 40616 packets since 2019!
