Whole School Approaches to creating time and space for professional learning

Ysgol Gynradd St. Andrew

Defnyddiodd Ysgol Gynradd St. Andrew ei chyllid grant dysgu proffesiynol ychwanegol i gynorthwyo arweinwyr, arweinwyr canol ac athrawon i ymgysylltu â’r Rhaglen Rhagoriaeth mewn Addysgu ac Arweinyddiaeth a gynigir gan y consortia rhanbarthol mewn cydweithrediad ag ysgolion dysgu proffesiynol rhanbarthol. Yr effaith gadarnhaol a gafodd hyn oedd ei fod wedi cynyddu hyder, monitro ac ymgysylltiad mewn deialog broffesiynol. Gwnaeth y staff addysgu ymgysylltu â’r safonau. Gwnaeth y cyllid gynorthwyo’r staff i ymweld â lleoliadau eraill a chynnal ymchwil ysgol gyfan ac ymchwil ar y cyd sydd wedi arwain at newid ysgol gyfan o ran diwygio a datblygu cwricwlwm newydd.

St. Andrew’s Primary School

St. Andrew’s Primary School used their additional professional learning grant funding to support leaders, middle leaders and teachers to engage with the Excellence in teaching and Leadership Programme offered by the regional consortia in collaboration with regional professional learning schools. The positive impact this had was that it increased confidence, monitoring and engagement in professional dialogue. Teaching staff engaged with the standards. Funding helped staff to visit other settings and undertake whole-school and collaborative research which has led to whole-school change in developing a new curriculum and reform.

Y Ysgol Gynradd y Coed Duon

Defnyddiodd Ysgol Gynradd y Coed Duon ei chyllid grant dysgu proffesiynol ychwanegol i ddatblygu ymhellach ei gallu i addasu i’r cwricwlwm newydd trwy arweinyddiaeth o ansawdd uchel a dysgu ar y cyd.

Fe wnaeth yr ysgol ddefnyddio’r grant nid yn unig i ddatblygu’r Dirprwy Bennaeth ymhellach ond hefyd i ddatblygu fframwaith dysgu proffesiynol, gan gynnwys yr holl staff mewn gweithgareddau datblygu arweinyddiaeth wedi eu cefnogi gan gonsortia rhanbarthol, i sicrhau eu bod yn ymwybodol o’r safonau proffesiynol newydd ar gyfer addysgu ac arweinyddiaeth. Defnyddiwyd dimensiynau ysgolion fel sefydliadau sy’n dysgu a’r Rhaglen Rhagoriaeth mewn Addysgu ganddynt i ddatblygu sgiliau arweinyddiaeth ar lefel briodol ar gyfer datblygiad personol.

Blackwood Primary School

Blackwood Primary School used their additional professional learning grant funding to further develop their capacity to adapt to the new curriculum through high quality leadership and collective learning.

They used the grant funding not only to further develop the Deputy Headteacher but also to develop a professional learning framework; with all staff being involved in leadership development activities supported by the regional consortia, to ensure that they were aware of the new professional standards for teaching and leadership. They used schools as learning organisations dimensions and the Excellence in Teaching Programme to build leadership skills at an appropriate level for personal development

Defnyddiodd Ysgol Uwchradd Joseff Sant ei chyllid dysgu proffesiynol ychwanegol mewn nifer o ffyrdd i gefnogi’r holl athrawon ac aelodau staff a chodi ymwybyddiaeth o Addysg yng Nghymru: Cenhadaeth ein cenedl. Bu’r grant ychwanegol hefyd o gymorth i wella dysgu proffesiynol parhaus, gweithio gydag ysgolion eraill ac ysgolion clwstwr, a hefyd i ddatblygu dull ysgol gyfan o alw i gof, modelu, adborth a llafaredd. Mae effaith cadarnhaol hyn wedi arwain at ddeilliannau gwell i ddysgwyr a sicrhau bod gan staff lwybr gyrfa personol. Mae’r cyllid hefyd wedi helpu staff i weithio ar y cyd a gwella’r ymagwedd at ddatblygiad

St Joseph’s High School

St Joseph’s High School used their additional professional learning funding in a number of ways to support all teachers and staff and raise awareness of Education in Wales: Our national mission. The additional grant also improved continuous professional learning, work with other schools and cluster schools, and helped to develop a whole-school approach to recall, modelling, feedback and oracy. The positive impact this had has led to improved outcomes for learners and ensured that staff have a personal career pathway. Funding also helped staff to work collaboratively and improve attitude to development.
