Term 2
Term 2
Theme of the Fortnight
The theme of the fortnight often reflects global events and therefore the theme for the next two weeks is 'The World Cup'. This does not mean that all we will talk about is football though. The football World Cup often brings up key debates about whether the cost of the event outweighs the esteem that comes with it; how the event brings people together from around the world, how it can unite people and many many more interesting topics.
With the competition kicking off (excuse the pun!) on Sunday evening, we look forward to discussing with the children just how interesting an event this promises to be - football fan or not!
Building Update
It will have been hard to miss that the school site is looking a little different today than it did at the end of the last term. Perfect Homes, our contractor, have been busy working away behind the fencing and signage and have certainly broke ground now. The foundations have started to be dug and poured, the extension to the playground area has begun and we can definitely start to see progress being made!
We hope that there has been little impact on yourselves in terms of the work that has taken place so far and will continue to keep you updated as we move forward if there is anything which may have more of an impact.
Self-Esteem Workshop
Following on from the very successful 'Anxiety' workshop for parents in term 6 of last year, Paula Johnson, our school's Mental Health Lead and Counsellor, will be offering a workshop for parents and careers around the topic of self-esteem.
Low self-esteem can manifest in may different ways and have a wide-reaching impact on pupils both personally and educationally.
This workshop will take place on 1.30pm - 3.00pm Thursday 12th January 2023.
So we are able to provide the relevant resources and refreshments for this event, if you are intending on attending, could you please complete the following form.
Channels of Communication
Just a quick reminder that the correct channels of communication for any worries, concerns or information is through the main school office.
Link books should be used for recording when children read and Google Classroom should be used solely for educational resources.
You can, of course, touch base with teachers at the end of the school day at pick-up, or any member of staff who is outside at either pick-up or drop-off.
Thank you for your cooperation with this.
