Hi there,
Dani here from Schoolhouse, a peer-to-peer tutoring nonprofit founded by Sal Khan of Khan Academy. I wanted to send a quick note that we've opened registration for our May tutoring programs. All programs are 100% free and take place virtually over Zoom.
We'd love if you could let your students know about our May programs! You can use our Share Schoolhouse Toolkit that has ready-to-use blurbs, graphics, flyers, and more.
Here's what's happening in May:

Financial Aid Decoded: Part of our College Admissions Workships, this is a 2-week deep dive into all things financial aid. We'll cover what forms students need to submit, what information to gather, and more.
Algebra 2 Final Exam Prep: Students will receive personalized support and 1:1 tutoring in the month leading up to their Algebra 2 final exam.
All programs have limited spots available, so please let your students know right away so they can find the times that work best for their busy schedules.
Thanks for all of your support!
Dani
PS... I will be sending over our Summer Programs Calendar in mid-May. We will be offering college admissions workshops, a summer SAT Bootcamp, and more!

Founded in 2010, the Summer Student Program is designed for high school students who are interested in pursuing careers in the biomedical sciences.
Independent research in a stimulating learning environment
Students will have a chance to take part in an 8-week, biomedical or computational lab-based internship in a Memorial Sloan Kettering (MSK) research lab. Students are paired with a mentor who supervises their activities, helping them develop appropriate technical skills. Over the course of the internship, students complete a self-directed project that supports the Principal Investigator’s overall research objectives. Through participation in laboratory meetings and program sessions, students are exposed to a variety of people within their assigned laboratories and MSK community.
Professional and Personal Development
The students will also explore outside of the laboratory, in an effort to provide an additional facet to life as a scientist. These events will give insight into the world of translational medicine and research. The events are hosted by programs throughout Memorial Sloan Kettering, including the Office of Scientific Education & Training, various Memorial Hospital clinical departments, and Human Resources.
The 8-week program begins on June 30 and ends August 22, 2025.
Students receive a stipend of $1,200 for the summer. Housing is not provided.
Successful applicants typically demonstrate strong academic achievement and leadership skills and are interested in biomedical sciences and translational cancer research. We strongly encourage students from groups historically underrepresented in science (disadvantaged, disabled, Black, Hispanic/LatinX, Native American) to apply.

NYU | Future Game Designers
Future Game Designers is a FREE intensive, hands-on 14-week workshop designed to introduce talented high school first-years, sophomores, and juniors to the process of digital game development, tabletop game design, and understanding game history and the game industry.
The program is free to participants who are able to commute to the NYU Game Center's facilities in Downtown Brooklyn. The workshop will introduce students to the methods, tools and principles used in developing digital games. Over the course of the 14 weeks, students will work alone and in groups to create a series of digital prototypes or ‘sketches’, culminating in a final polished game building on the lessons learned in the earlier sketches. This is a hands-on, primarily lab-based workshop, and so the focus is on learning-by-doing rather than on reading and discussion alone. Tisch recruits and encourages applications from students from all backgrounds, including those from lower socio-economic backgrounds and those from groups underrepresented within the game industry. Up to 16 students will be selected to participate in the program.
