Caitlin:
'I am studying Sport at sixth form and we are on the topic of sports psychology which looks at how factors such as stress, motivation and confidence affect performance. I am really enjoying the subject because it is interesting learning how mental aspects can influence athletes and the way they perform. It has helped me see sport from a new perspective and realise how much of it is psychological, not just physical'
Amy:Â
'I am studying sport in sixth form and I am really enjoying the subject. Sport has always been a subject I enjoy because it just sort of comes flowing to me, I don't have to overthink it because it all just makes sense to me. At the moment we are learning about the psychology of sport and how this impacts performance in a range of sporting activities. However I am really enjoying this topic because it helps me understand how athletes think, feel, and behave in competition and training. It’s fascinating to learn how different mental factors like motivation, confidence, anxiety, and focus can influence physical performance. Learning about sport psychology also makes me reflect on my own mindset and how I approach challenges—not just in sport and school, but in everyday life'Â
