What can you expect in terms of support for your next steps after sixth form?
Whether students are continuing their careers education with us from lower school or joining us as an external student, you can expect the same high quality careers education throughout your sixth form experience.
We have a dedicated careers lesson during advisory time where we explicitly teach students about all pathways, application processes and the experiences that will benefit a successful application.
Students also have access to Unifrog, a platform we subscribe to so students can access specialist advice, skills development and research Post 18 opportunities.
Beyond dedicated careers lessons, a wide range of resources, a week of work experience at the end of year 12 and outreach activities students also receive 1-2-1 meetings with our independent careers advisor to support their Post 18 planning.
At Leigh Academy Hugh Christie, we are proud of the diverse and successful pathways our Sixth Form students take after their studies. Each year, our students progress on to a wide range of exciting destinations, reflecting their individual aspirations and talents.
🎓 Many of our students secure places at top universities across the country, including prestigious Russell Group institutions.
💼 Others choose high-quality apprenticeships with leading employers, gaining valuable workplace experience while continuing their learning.
👩🔧 Some move directly into full-time employment, supported by our careers guidance and employability skills programme.
📚 Students also progress into specialist training courses and further education opportunities to develop their skills and passions.
Whatever the pathway, our dedicated support ensures every student leaves Sixth Form with the confidence, qualifications, and ambition to succeed.
