Deciding what to do after Year 11 is one of the most important choices you will make — shaping not only your next two years, but also your future pathway into university, apprenticeships, or employment. At Turing College, we understand that every student’s journey is unique.

From your very first enquiry to your final results day, you’ll be supported every step of the way. Our dedicated Sixth Form team provides personalised guidance to help you choose the right courses, plan your future ambitions, and develop the confidence and independence to achieve them.

Whether you already have a clear goal or are still exploring your options, we’ll help you make informed decisions and build a programme of study that plays to your strengths and aspirations. At Turing College, you won’t face these choices alone — we’re here to help you learn, grow, and belong.

Applications Open

📅 Monday 3rd November 2025
Applications for September 2026 entry officially open. Take time to review our course options, pathways, and entry requirements before submitting your application.

Open Event

📅 Thursday 13th November 2025
🕠 17:30 – 19:00
Join us for our Sixth Form Open Event to meet our staff and students, explore our wide range of courses, and experience life at Turing College.

Priority Application Deadline

📅 Saturday 31st January 2026
We strongly encourage applications to be submitted by this date to ensure full consideration for your chosen courses and access to early guidance and support.

🗓️ Tours & Visits – January to July 2026

Join one of our guided tours to see the school in action, meet current students, and experience the welcoming atmosphere of Turing College. These visits are a great opportunity to ask questions and learn more about Sixth Form life.

Applicant Interviews

📅 January - April 2026 by invitation following your application

🤝 Shortlisted applicants will be invited to attend an interview with a member of the Sixth Form team. These meetings are a chance to discuss subject choices, aspirations, and ensure you are on the right pathway for success.

🎓 Sixth Form Taster Day

📅 Tuesday 14th July 2026

Get a real feel for sixth form life! Join us for our Taster Day to experience sample lessons, meet teachers, explore subject options, and discover what studying at Level 3 is like. This is a great opportunity to ask questions, meet new people, and start thinking about your next steps before applications open.

🎓 Results Day & Enrolment

📅 Thursday 13th August 2026

On GCSE Results Day, our Sixth Form team will be available to confirm your place and finalise enrolment. Support and advice will be provided to ensure your chosen subjects align with your results and future goals.

Final Application Deadline

📅 Friday 30th September 2026
All applications must be received by this date. Late applications may be considered subject to course availability.

Supporting a Smooth Transition to Sixth Form - SEND

At Turing College, we are committed to ensuring that every student – including those with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) – experiences a confident, supported, and successful transition into Sixth Form.

We understand that moving from Year 11 to post-16 education can feel like a big step. That’s why our team works closely with students, families, and external agencies to create a personalised transition plan that meets individual needs. Early communication, tailored support, and familiarisation visits help every learner feel settled, confident, and ready to thrive.

Students have access to our dedicated Beacon Support provision, which offers a calm and welcoming environment for additional guidance, mentoring, and study support throughout their Sixth Form journey. Our staff are trained to understand and respond to a wide range of learning needs, ensuring that all students can achieve their goals, develop independence, and make the most of the opportunities available at Turing College.

We know that choosing where to study after Year 11 is an important decision — and there’s no better way to experience life at Turing College than by seeing it for yourself. Throughout the year, we organise tours and visits to give prospective students and their families the opportunity to see the school in action.

During your visit, you’ll be able to explore our facilities, observe lessons, and meet staff and current Sixth Form students who can share their experiences. It’s also the perfect chance to ask any questions about courses, enrichment opportunities, or student life.

Financial assistance at Sixth Form

We support students financially with the 16-19 Bursary Fund for students who qualify, the current criteria to receive support is a household income below £40,000. We have clear guidance from subjects and the sixth form team around how to utilise this support most effectively. Please ask a member of the Sixth Form team for more information.
