The purpose of a dress code is to respect the dignity of our school community in four main areas:
Equality:
The uniform is a symbol of equality of persons created in the image and likeness of God.
Uniform Appearance:
The uniform allows for a sense of community while promoting our school identity.
Respect:
Wearing a uniform shows pride and respect for our school family.
Costs:
Parents sacrifice to send their sons/daughters to Catholic schools, and the uniform is intended to be a financial relief.
Parents/guardians are expected to know what their children are wearing and how they are dressed for school each day. It may be necessary for a faculty member to request a student to adjust his/her appearance or return home for a proper dress item.
Students will always wear modest and appropriate clothes.
The uniform is to fit in traditional fashion. Skin-tight shirts and sagging pants are not permitted.
The school uniform sweatshirt may be worn in school with the uniform blouse/polo or a white turtleneck.
Turtlenecks may only be worn with sweatshirts.
Sweatshirts may not be oversized, torn or ragged.
Red HTS sweatshirts may be worn in grades K-6 only.
Gray HTS sweatshirts may be worn in grades 7-8 only.
For safety reasons, tennis shoes must be worn at all times. Shoes must be properly fastened and enclose the entire foot.
Unnatural hair dyes, hair bleaching, tattoos & body piercings are not permitted. Piercing includes ear cartilage.
NO attire that is political in nature or contradictory to the Catholic Church teachings may be worn.
The bottom hem of the shorts/skirts should be no shorter than fingertips when you are standing upright and arms are fully extended at your sides.
Belts: Grades 3rd - 8th grades must wear a belt at all times with their uniform slacks and/or shorts. Belts must be a solid color of navy blue, black, or brown with no rivets.
Shirts: Red, blue or white uniform shirt, long or short-sleeved, two or three button knit can be worn. This shirt may be worn in lieu of a white blouse. Only white T-shirts may be worn under the uniform shirt and are not to show under sleeves or elsewhere.

Shorts: Grades K-6: Uniform shorts may be worn after Spring Break through Thanksgiving. Grades 7-8: Uniform shorts may be worn all year. The bottom hem of the shorts should be no shorter than fingertips when you are standing upright and arms are fully extended at your sides.
Pants: Pants must be uniform material, dark navy. No corduroy. The leg may be slightly flared. No cuff leg, unless the cuffs are securely sewn in place, for safety reasons. No denim type or faded slacks. No rivets, off-color or decorative stitching. Cargo, button fly or draw string slacks are not allowed.
Sweaters/Sweatshirts/Jackets: All uniform outerwear, including: sweatshirts, vests, jackets, and sweaters must have the HTS monogram and are permitted to be worn in school during class time and at Mass.
Grades K-6 may only wear red or navy
Grades 7-8 may only wear red, navy, or grey
Uniform shirts MUST be worn underneath outerwear
NO Hooded Sweatshirts are allowed, with the exception of dress-down days. Hoods must remain off inside the school building.
Socks: Socks must be worn at all times. PLAIN white socks with a single manufacturer logo are permitted. HTS socks will be permitted.
Hair: Hair is to be neatly trimmed and natural color. The length should be no longer than the shirt collar, above the ear and eyebrows. Other hairstyles will be decided at the discretion of the administration.
Blouses: Blouses are to be solid white, short or long-sleeved, tailored, with collar - ruffles, lace or monograms are not allowed.
Hair: Hair is to be neatly trimmed and natural color. Other hairstyles will be decided at the discretion of the administration.
Headbands may only be bands or bow, no additional decorations allowed on headbands (ie: cat ears, unicorn horn).
Skirts & Jumpers: Skirts and Jumpers must be modest. The bottom hem of the jumpers/skirts should be at the knee when you are standing upright. SHORTS MUST BE WORN UNDER THE UNIFORM SKIRTS AND JUMPERS. Rolling at the waistband is not permitted.
Plaid uniform jumpers will be worn by girls in grades 1-4.
Pleated skirts will be worn by girls in grades 5-8.
Leggings of solid color navy color may be worn under the jumper or skirt in cold weather. (Pantyhose are not allowed as leggings).
In keeping with Catholic school tradition and standards, any noticeable makeup worn may be required to be removed.
All students: Natural nails only. (Girls may have solid colored polish.)
The following items are allowed to be worn:
Watch (No Smart Watches- this is defined as any watch capable of connection to internet or messaging);
Girls may wear one earring on each earlobe, no dangle earrings. Earrings may not extend beyond the earlobe;
Huggie hoop earrings that hug the ear lobe are allowed.
Boys are not allowed to wear earrings at any time;
One religious or simple necklace;
Rings—one ring allowed;
One religious or simple bracelet.
All students who participate in P.E. will wear appropriate gym (rubber soled) shoes.
Students in grades K-6 may wear uniform slacks or uniform shorts.
GRADES K-6 GIRLS' SHORTS MUST HAVE AN INSEAM OF 3 OR MORE INCHES.
Students in 7th & 8th grades are required to purchase a Holy Trinity Physical Education uniform. Information on where to purchase can be found on the HTS website or by calling the front office.
Any previously purchased uniform is acceptable; including items sold at the used uniform sale.
*Please note: if you child is having P.E. on a dress-up day, he/she must either wear or bring the appropriate gym shoes for that day. Proper clothing for all types of weather is expected. Shoes must be fastened or tied.
* Clothing must be modest, appropriate, not ragged or torn, and reflect Christian values.
Shoes - tennis shoes or shoes (no heel) with a back strap must be worn on these days.
Tennis shoes are required for PE classes.
Hats are not allowed.
All tops must have sleeves.
Leggings as pants are not allowed.

Students who come to school not dressed in compliance with the above guidelines will change into a uniform from the nurse or parents may bring a change of clothes.

Shirts and dresses must have sleeves, or student must wear a shrug or sweater with sleeves. Skirt/dress must be modest and hemmed no more than four inches above the knee. Denim skirts are allowed.
If a student wishes/needs to change, only uniform attire is permitted.
On SPIRIT days, students may wear ONLY HTS clothing of their choosing.
In the event that a student is not in compliance with the dress code, (for each individual infraction):
1st infraction = verbal reminder and dress code violation form sent home for parent signature and return. Date for expected compliance will be given.
2nd infraction = verbal reminder and dress code violation form sent home for parent signature and return. Date for expected compliance will be given.
3rd time = student is referred to Administration. Phone call home. Consequence will be assigned until dress code is brought to compliance.
*At any time, parents can reach out to Administration if extenuating circumstances prevent you from meeting the 3 day deadline to bring dress code into compliance. We will partner together with you coming up with a timeline that is manageable and reasonable for both parties.
