The Catholic schools of the Archdiocese of Kansas City in Kansas welcome students of every race, color, national origin and gender and admit them to all rights, privileges, programs, and activities generally made available to students in these schools. Preference in admissions is given to members of the Catholic parishes/regions served by the Catholic schools in the Archdiocese and members of the Catholic faith.
The first step in the enrollment process is to complete a New Student Application. Once active parishioner status has been verified and open seats have been determined, an Acceptance Letter will be sent via email with instructions on how to enroll online. Sixth through eighth grade new student applicants and parents must visit with administration prior to enrollment.
Preference in enrollment is given to members of the Catholic faith. The priority of enrollment at HTS is:
Sibling(s) of current school family
Active parishioners enrolled in HTEEC
Holy Trinity Parishioner/with Pledge Card on file & active
Order of registration
According to Holy Trinity policy, a Holy Trinity family is defined as a family residing within our parish boundaries and is an active, participating member of Holy Trinity Parish. An active, participating member is one who;
Registers with the Holy Trinity Parish Office;
Attends Mass regularly;
Contributes regularly through envelopes or automatic offerings;
Volunteers time and/or talents as capable;
Has current offertory pledge card on file.
Time of registry with HT parish may be factors in enrollment. The parish will continue to rely on your giving as a separate obligation from school support. Your parish contributions are essential to maintain, in addition to the school, the many other important responsibilities of our church shared by the entire faith community of Holy Trinity. When there is a need for a kindergarten waiting list, longevity of active participation will be a consideration. (Parish Policy, 2-20-89)
Kindergarten- maximum is 24 students per class.
Grades 1 through 2 - maximum is 27 students per class.
Grades 3 through 8 - maximum is 30 students per class.
Parent requests for teacher selection are discouraged. The decision will be based on the professional discretion of the school's Principal, in conjunction with teacher input.
If a parish does not have an elementary school or is at capacity at any grade level, the parents of students denied enrollment will be afforded the option to enroll at another regional parish elementary school. The sending parish and family shall each pay 50% of the total per pupil cost.
Procedure: The principal will recommend another Catholic school only if the grade level that the student would be entering in his/her home parish school is at capacity. The principal of the home parish school will recommend the most convenient Catholic school options to the parent. The principal of the receiving school will verify a student’s recommendation from the principal of the home parish school.
A child must be five years of age on or before August 31 to be eligible to enter kindergarten. Any child who has completed kindergarten in an accredited school shall be eligible to enter first grade regardless of age. It is strongly recommended that parents of children entering kindergarten rely on their preschool's recommendation as to whether a child is ready for his/her kindergarten experience. As in the case of other students entering Holy Trinity for the first time, families must provide the medical and dental information, as well as the baptismal and birth certificates required upon entering.
Students who transfer to another school will be given their report cards. The student’s academic and health records will be sent to the school he/she is transferring to when Holy Trinity receives a parental signed request from that school. When a student transfers in from another school, a request will be made for records from the previous school. Prior to this, the student shall present his/her report card. All applicable tuition and fees must be paid in full before any student records can be transferred to another school. This is Federal Law.
All new students entering grades 2-8 will be required to sign a New Family/Student Contract. This contract outlines academic and behavioral expectations.
Any monies past due including Tuition, Fees, and cafeteria will be handled as follows:
