Super Ambassadors' Welcome

Meet our Super Ambassadors

We are the school’s Super Ambassadors and our job is to make sure everyone in our school has a voice and that they are treated fairly. We hold regular Super Ambassador assemblies and we focus on a new article [from the UN Convention Rights of every Child] to help children know they have rights and responsibilities. In our school the children are really friendly and we respect each other. We also have helpful teachers who remind us of the school guidelines which are all about respect.

We focus on a right a month and promote this in the school. One of our most important rights is:

Article 19 – We have the right to not be harmed and to be looked after and kept safe.

Our School Guidelines

To build positive relationships we:

*Respect ourselves;

*Respect other children;

*Respect all adults;

*Respect our surroundings.

We restore any relationships that have been harmed.

Every day we say our school mantra which reminds us about the values that are so important to us. We also chant the words:

“I am loved, I am strong, I am important and I am special” to remind us that we can do anything!

Pupil Voice

Our teachers want to hear our views about everything in the school. We have lots of chances to share our ideas and some of our pupil groups include:

We are also in charge of leading or own learning and have regular pupil voice sessions to share our ideas for the issues that are important to us and the areas that we are interested in.

The Senedd

At Herbert Thompson Primary School, we have a Senedd (our school parliament) and they represent pupil voice across the school. Each Senedd member is assigned to a pupil voice group and as a Senedd representative, they are responsible for informing the rest of the Senedd about ideas and issues. When we meet as a Senedd we find out what is happening across the school and make decisions. We are very proud to be representing our classes and friends.

If something is worrying us about school, we can go to our elected representatives and ask them to discuss our worries with the rest of the Senedd. We can then go to Mrs Marsh or Mrs Jones if the concerns are something we need help to solve. We then feedback to the other children in the class.
