In order to ensure the safety of all our pupils, we request that parents who drive their children to school never stop on the yellow school markings or allow children to leave the car whilst on these markings. It is an offence to park anywhere on the ‘School Keep Clear’ markings between 8.45am and 3.45pm Mondays to Fridays during term times in the interests of your children’s safety.
Our local PCSO officers often patrol the area as well as the parking enforcement cars.
As a school we have worked with officers in the local authority to create a plan to encourage families to travel to school 'actively' such as on foot, by scooters or bikes as often as possible. We are installing more bike racks as well as having scooter storage to encourage this. Look out for our newsletters where we will be sharing more information about the progress with this.
To keep us safe, the school has a security system and several important policies detailing procedures. We have many CCTV cameras strategically placed around the school and the outside doors are fitted with security locks. If you wish to visit the school, please just push the buzzer once and wait. Mrs Perry or Mrs Hughes will open the door for you as soon as they can. Pupils are not permitted to open the door to visitors unless directed to do so by a member of staff. All visitors to the school are closely monitored and are required to sign in and out and wear visitor badges identifying them clearly.
Fire drills are carried out on a regular basis in order that all children and adults using our school site are familiar with emergency evacuation procedures. These evacuations are reported to the LA on a termly basis.
