Huntsville City Schools Security Department's primary purpose is to ensure the safety of all students, staff and visitors to our campuses.  Secondary missions include reducing classroom disruptions and protection of HCS property and assets. 

Campus Security

Campus Security includes more than fifty Campus Security Officers and five Campus Security Supervisors who train and manage them.  This group is charged with ensuring our campuses are safe and welcoming to all who study, work and visit.

Security Operations

Security Operations includes approximately twenty staff members that include Operators, Technicians and Administrative Assistants who operate the control room and support our Campus Security Officers and School Administrators.

Control Room

Huntsville City Schools Security Control Room is open for business 24 hours a day and 365 days a year.  This control room monitors all Huntsville City School Campuses for fire, security and other alarms as well as coordinating responses to incidents that occur on Huntsville City School property.

Badge Office

Huntsville City Schools Badging Office is open  8am to 11am and 2pm to 4pm, Monday through Friday.  This office issues badges to all employees, contractors and students (6th – 12th grade).​

Emergencies:  Call 911 and then inform the Security Office as soon as possible.

Preventative Measures:

• Call security when entering or leaving a building after hours and weekends

• Secure windows and doors in your area before you leave

• Report suspicious activity

• Take threats seriously

• Report outside lights that need repair​
