Dr. Monte Linebarger, Department Head

The Consent Order Department oversees Huntsville City Schools’ implementation of a federal court–mandated desegregation agreement. Its mission is to ensure equitable educational opportunities for all students—regardless of race—by managing key areas of compliance, including school attendance zones, access to advanced academic programs, fairness in student discipline, staff and faculty diversity, extracurricular access, and school climate. This department plays a critical role in guiding the district toward “unitary status” by coordinating progress, reporting to the court, and supporting continued efforts in diversity, equity, and inclusion.
