One of the strategic plans of Daffodil International University is to “ensure a quality and effective education system”.
Quality and effective education include good teaching. Good teaching, at its heart, reflects scholarship, personal integrity, and proper communication with the students and tracking the improvement from both teachers' and students' end. Good teachers, besides disseminating information in the class is always at the edge of their subjects and interests, always insist on the reasons for learning and assess the teaching goals.
The goals of the center are to select and train faculty to learn better and appropriate teaching methods, apply them timely, and assess their own teaching to ensure the quality of learning/teaching at the DIU teaching & learning environment.
CERTIFICATE IN TECHNOLOGY-ENHANCED TEACHING: PREPARATION OF TEACHING DOSSIER (CTET 201)
Introduction:
This workshop will teach teachers how to prepare a teaching dossier so that teachers can assess his/her teaching. Assessment will include the collection of information about student learning using appropriate time, knowledge, expertise, and resources to promote the quality of teaching.
Outcome: After completing the course participants will be able to learn
How well the teachers and students are achieving the goals/objectives during teaching and learning?
How can a teacher prepare his/her teaching dossier for making teaching visible?
What are the challenges faced by teachers in the 21st-century and how it should be tackled?
Contents to be covered:
1. Setting your goals (short term and long term)
2. Reflection on your teaching:
a. How did the students feel about your teaching effectiveness?
b. What do you believe about your strengths and weaknesses in teaching?
c. Over the next semester/year what do you plan on doing to continue to improve your teaching?
d. How can the department/university help with your teaching?
e. What do teachers want from his students to learn?
