Seating / Environment
Have seats in rows facing toward the front. Leave minimal space in between desks for more interaction between students. Students tend to also learn off of each other in modern language classes.
During Conversation
Have students find partners or groups to talk in. This should not be assigned but the teacher should encourage students to branch off. Have students talk to multiple different people.
Toolbox
When teaching, move around a lot and use multiple whiteboards. This keeps students spatially aware.
Make sure there is lots of repetition when learning new material. This is key to memorization.
The teacher can have games that the students play which are related to the topic. Some of these games could be on Quizlet or any other games that you find. The winners of these games could get prizes such as candy, pencils, erasers, or more.
