Through audition, color guard is offered to any CHS student for the first quarter of each school year. Students do not need to play an instrument to participate in guard, but they must register for "Color Guard" during the fall semester, attend the July camp, attend the August camp, and purchase the necessary guard accessories for the year. Membership is determined by audition, personnel needs, as well as attitude/commitment displayed for the Band program. Color Guard is a part of the Band program and we all one team!
Color Guard members have the opportunity to travel on our biannual band trips and when the Band is traveling for a marching band performance in which the guard will be performing. To be eligible for Band Trips, Color Guard members must actively participate as workers for Spring Spotlight each year and participate in the Band’s group fundraising projects on a highly consistent basis (ie.. can drives, etc.). Not meeting these expectations will exclude a color guard member from trip eligibility.
Color Guard Instructor is Ms. Danielle Chihak.
